The Long Beach Sailing Club hosts Hekowi, a  CT 47 open ocean outfitted ketch.  This vessel is optimized for long passages in comfort, as well as being host to our advanced cruising sailing classes.  The CT 47 requires appropriate training or an onboard crew member during operation, but she can be crewed to Catalina, and then the crew can ferry home, leaving the passengers to enjoy the island alone until the return passage.  Yes, Hekowi is named for the Indian tribe in F-Troop that occasionally got lost.
