The Long Beach Sailing Club hosts Cat Attack, the award and race
winning 33 foot catamaran by Reynolds Sailing. This vessel routinely
obtains speeds of near 20 knots within minutes of leaving the Alamitos Bay.
Cat Attack will be operated by a captain and a
trained crew member. Lessons are available. Captains are available for $25 per hour with a 2 hour minimum. A four
hour lesson is $155 for one person, $290 for two.
Dirigo II is our 72 foot
schooner. Designed by John Alden in 1938, the vessel has 12 sea berths and
routinely carries 4-6
passengers on weekend and week long adventures to Catalina and the Channel
Islands. Dirigo II
has competed in two Transpacs, competes yearly in the Ensenada race, and
circumnavigated the globe in 1954 - 1960.
Dirigo II is always operated
by a captain and crew, but passengers are welcome to assist in vessel operation.
